So I’m back in from College, and I’ve got this notion, JM3 (John Mayer Trio if you didn’t know) and their album TRY! is one of those things that you should know. So I figured I’d share it with you. I can’t help but smile, imagining what it would have been like to experience Gravity for the first time from John Mayer, Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan; the smile doesn’t go away as it progresses into Vultures and I’m almost laughing. In my minds’ eye I can see myself, stood with my groove face on, fully moving to the groove that is the insatiable funk of that song. How can you beat the culmination of years of listening to Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Albert King, SRV and Jimi Hendrix that comes screaming out in the slow blues of Out of My Mind? In my opinion, you can’t. I am fully aware this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and I understand perfectly that everyone is entitled to my own opinion.
So there it is, something you should know. Things I don’t know? Well this part of the blog is essentially very short, or completely endless depending on how you look at it. Short because I can’t write about what I don’t know, endless because in the grand scheme of things, I know very little, which brings me to my final point; things we’ll never know. No idea what they could be. However the creative juices are flowing (steady) so I will leave you with a link to our review and go and write some more music.
