When did you start playing your instrument/singing and why?
I started singing lessons when I was 6 to learn how to project my voice but was singing before that, just very quietly. Don’t know why just something I have always done.
What’s your musical background, broadly speaking (bands you’ve been part of in the past, formative listening)?
I have mostly played covers as part of an acoustic set up for gigs in the past but have also been in bands due to course requirements at college and University.
Which artists most influence the way you approach the TGB and how?
People like Lisa Fisher, Beverly Knight, Ruby Turner etc. as they have what I think is the right sort of sound to go with the band and someone like Lisa Fisher is versatile and slots into a group well.
What’s your favourite memory of being in the band so far, musical or otherwise?
Can’t think of a specific event but after a really good gig everyone is really supportive and complimentary of everyone else in the band and there is a real buzz.
Out of the gigs you’ve done with the band, which was your favourite and why?
Kirkby Overblow festival because it was for a good cause and I was the only backing vocalist which challenged me and I love a challenge.
Favourite TGB song to play and why?
Can’t get Enough – cause the BV’s are noice and the song is filth.
Favourite part of the process? (Writing, rehearsing, gigging, recording, etc.) and why?
Well I have only done rehearsals and gigs. I enjoy both but the gigs more so as I enjoy the feeling of performing live.
