So after finishing my exams, it was straight from the exam room to the train station to get to Leeds for a 6pm soundcheck. It was a pretty intense chain of events, that required instructing Tom to bring half of my kit, but not the other half – and since a drum kit can be split in half in more than 1 way – it made the telephone convo before hand rather long winded. Anyway – it was a good gig and we were playing with some decent bands, in a good venue. It wasn’t the easiest audience to play to, who needed transporting from the dulcet tones of the previous folk band. But that was by no means a bad thing – our first public performance of the band’s new track – Lovin’ You seemed to go down a treat. This was great to see, as the band have really enjoyed taking it from a solo acoustic track to the presence of a full band. And boy, was it a full band! The delightful debut for backing vocalists Laura and Bridie just added so much to the sound – and once again, it was a pleasure to be joined by Dave Levi on keys. So if you missed The Library, get yourselves down to the HiFi club on the 24th Feb where we’ll be playing next!

It would be nice to think that work has calmed down a little now, and it has – but only to be replaced by a very busy February, full of music! Really looking forward to Saturday as the band go into the studio to record 2 new tracks, including Lovin’ You. I’ve also got a weeks worth of panto to do, down at Little Germany’s Priestley Theatre in Bradford, starting on Feb 15th – so if you’re around, come on down and witness my first ever panto! Should be a good laugh! Thursday night sees me playing for the Scrotes in Manchester, while I’m looking forward to returning to my bro’s jazz trio next week – especially having just recorded 3 new tracks with him and our man Jamie on bass – check them out on his website! Then we’re back at the HiFi club with Tom on the 24th as I mentioned – so hope to see you there!

Anyway, enough from me – be at the HiFi or we’ll hunt you down n….hurt you!

Ciao!
